The Western Tidewater Free Clinic (WTFC) is pleased to announce the appointment of three new board members – Chester M. Hart, Jr., George F. Staudter, and Mary P. Lindner - who join board members representing the Western Tidewater service area. From varied backgrounds and professions, the new members bring valuable expertise in the Clinic’s seventh year of operations to provide health care to uninsured, economically disadvantaged adults across the Western Tidewater region.
Western Tidewater Free Clinic (WTFC) hosted its Board of Directors Annual Meeting on June 2, 2014, where former and current board members honored Dr. Desmond J. Longford, WTFC retiring Medical Director, for his years of service to the Clinic. Pictured are WTFC Medical Director Dr. Bernard Jamison, WTFC Executive Director Miriam Beiler, Dr. Desmond J. Longford (seated), his son Desmond Longford, Jr., and WTFC Chairman of the Board Stephie Broadwater. Also shown is the framed resolution of deep appreciation presented to Dr. Longford by the current Board of Directors.
Western Tidewater Free Clinic volunteers, board members, and employees recently attended the 7th annual Volunteer Picnic at the Planter’s Club in Suffolk. Volunteers of the Year were honored were: (seated) Donna Edwards, RPh; Barbara Gietl, RN; Patricia Mears, RDH; (standing) Fran Alwood, Lynne Stockman, DO; Davis Gardner, DDS; and Marlene Everett.
